Xactimate material allowance
Also: material allowance · MAT allowance
An Xactimate material allowance is the material portion of an Xactimate unit price — what the estimate budgets for goods, separate from labor and equipment. Comparing real supplier pricing against this allowance, by trade, shows a contractor the variance before ordering rather than after the invoice arrives.
Xactimate unit prices bundle material, labor, and equipment. The Components (CAR) export breaks that bundle apart and reports the material share, which is the true budget a buyout has to land inside. TrueTakeoff reads that split so the variance readout compares like with like.
